We do quite a bit of API integration work at Solspace for our various clients. The flow of traffic and leads going through a site is critical. Effective capture and optimization is also key. We knew this when we began development on our Freeform plugin for Craft CMS a few years ago. To this end, we made sure that we designed Freeform so that it could easily make new connections to new APIs such as those provided by CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.), marketing automation and email marketing systems.

With the Freeform API framework, a simple file can be added to your Craft install that allows you to connect your Freeform forms to a remote system. One such integration was recently built for SharpSpring. SharpSpring is an inexpensive CRM that many agencies favor for its ease of use and friendly price point.

In Freeform for Craft, when you want to push form data submitted by prospects into a remote CRM, you just create a PHP file that contains a few key methods that tie into Freeform's framework, documented here.

Freeform sends in the data, the API file grabs it and formats it for the right CRM and sends it off. Boom, instant integration.

An integration like this was created for SharpSpring so that incoming leads land in the CRM where they can be tracked, reviewed, delegated and followed-up on.
