Shortcut:URL template tag

The Shortcut:URL tag lets you automatically generate and parse shortcut URL's for any URL you supply it. Simply wrap the Shortcut:URL tag around a URL that's hardcoded, stored in a custom channel field, constructed from segments, etc. Shortcut will do the rest.

{exp:shortcut:url} content {/exp:shortcut:url}

A URL taken from a custom channel field on a single entry view page:

{exp:channel:entries require_entry="yes"}
    <h3>{title}</h3>
    <p>{description}</p>
    <p>Shortcut: {exp:shortcut:url}{MY_CUSTOM_FIELD}{/exp:shortcut:url}</p>
{/exp:channel:entries}

A URL taken from a custom channel field on a multi-entry list view page:

<ul>
{exp:channel:entries channel="articles" dynamic="no"}
    <li>{title} (shortcut: {exp:shortcut:url}{MY_CUSTOM_FIELD}{/exp:shortcut:url})</li>
{/exp:channel:entries}
</ul>

A hardcoded URL, constructed with segments:

{exp:shortcut:url}
    http://mysite.com/{segment_1}{if segment_2}/{segment_2}{/if}{if segment_3}/{segment_3}{/if}
{/exp:shortcut:url}
